Do not read this alone.

If you know me personally, you will know that I'm not a superstitious person. I'm usually the last to believe and the first to walk into a dark spooky area. But after being in this industry for a while, there are just some things that I cannot explain.

Yesterday, something happened.

Its the 60th day of production for Fighting Spiders 2. It being a period drama, almost all of our shoot locations are old abandoned places and forested areas. Empty rooms, broken windows and small unexplainable happenings have became a norm for us.

Yesterday, we moved to another location - a forested area in Sembawang, near Andrew's Ave. This forest is surrounded by the oldest Mosque in Singapore, and I have been forewarned by a crew that this area is rather "unclean".

I scoffed at him.

He then whipped out his phone and showed me a video of a production that he was involved in not too long ago in this exact area. The content of the video was a makeup artiste, possessed and bursting out in high pitched laughter and shrieks in the middle of a Malay supernatural drama shoot. Apparently, the makeup artiste was teasing an actor for having to lie in a coffin.

I was spooked, but the shoot had to go on. So, I brushed the video aside and went ahead with my scene for the day.

Easy peasy - all I have to do is dig a body out from a grave.

When I reached the location of the grave, the trees around us started creaking. I brushed it aside as just a broken branch and went straight into my scene, screaming and crying my way to what I thought was a great scene. I looked at the crew and gave him the "See nothing happen what look."

I packed up and drove home.

That night, I broke into cold sweat and my sleep was disturbed by multitudes of nightmares. I woke up the next morning with fever and strange bites all over my left chest and upper arm.

Weirdly, I can't seem to doing anything right today.

With my mother's supervision, I have offered 3 joss sticks to the Guan Yin in my family's alter and I am seeing a doctor tomorrow.

Lesson Learnt.

Just keep in mind to be respectful.
