Dummy's Guide to Surviving our Tv Industry
Ever Wondered how the our TV industry works internally? Wanna know the unspoken rules of being an artiste? Have any questions on the way things are run? Here's your chance to ask! Leave your questions in the comment box and I'll answer them!
Any questions on how our industry works are welcomed. For example - How long does it take to produce a 20 Ep channel 8 Drama? Or Do senior artistes get to play Diva and do newer artistes get bullied? etc...

To start things up, here is a quiz for you guys.
There are rules when it comes to seating arrangement on a production bus. B and C listers are to be seated on a certain area and A listers another. Wanna take a stab at who seats where?

Ant.

hi andie
January 16, 2010 1:01 AMi would like to know if the seniors really do bully the juniors.
and does anyone sell their body to climb up in fame?
i am interested to be part of the tv industry but im really scared that its as dark as shows portray it to be.
thanks for your time!
i'm guessing the A listers are at the back, and the B and C listers are at the front. hmmm
January 16, 2010 5:30 AM1. Is there any existing popular artiste currently who have diva attitude?
January 16, 2010 10:36 AM2. Who are the male and female artiste below 35 years old do you think are very humble and polite although they're considered quite popular?
3. Do some artistes really do plastic surgery?
Hi Ant
January 16, 2010 11:40 AMwhy don't you just bootlick Paul Chan instead of disturbing EDMW to boost your popularity?
Just get Paul to blog more about you instead of Jeanette Aw.
Many good years ahead.
You mean even sitting arrangement also differentiate you guys? I think the A listers sit at the back.. Am I right?
January 16, 2010 7:42 PMFrom front.... director diagonally opp driver... A listers behind den all the way to extras at the back.... :)
January 17, 2010 1:36 AMHere a clue guys, there is a different set of rules for the 2 different genre of productions. There is also a story of why how the rules of seating came abt... more guesses anyone? more questions too!!
January 18, 2010 1:47 AMAnswer will be out soon, stay tune guys!
AngstyAndie.
Does any of the 7 Princesses have the diva attitude? Who do you think is the best among those 7?
January 18, 2010 12:42 PMI'm guessing that the A listers sit nearer to the door, cos they can get a sit and alight more quickly. And also, if reporters go up the bus, they can interview the A listers more conveniently. haha, (:
January 18, 2010 5:24 PMErm, i have a qn for you too Andie.
Usually after filming some outdoor scene right, do you guys go straight home, or must you go back to M'corp for a debrief session?
Very interesting topic indeed. Looking forward to your next blog.
January 18, 2010 5:25 PMHi,
January 18, 2010 7:45 PM1. Do artistes have a say in changing some of the lines or the plot while filming the drama?
2. When I watched you all appear on TV, I often heard the younger artiste addressing the veteran as xx jie or xx da-ge. But in private or off-screen, do you all really still address them the same way?
It is very interesting for me to read the blog. Thanks for it. I like such topics and everything that is connected to them. BTW, why don't you change design :).
January 19, 2010 4:48 AMIt's interesting to see how much effort you are putting in yourself to make the younger generation understand the tv industry better. :) (even though not everyone shares the same view)
January 19, 2010 11:15 AMFastidious Blog! You have put an immense issue. I have the benefit of reading. I will keep stay.
January 19, 2010 1:46 PMHello Andie,
January 19, 2010 3:35 PMIs it really hard for artistes to make friends outside the industry after they are in the trade? Like I'm sure u'll worry whether is this person being friends with you just to ride on your tailcoat. Are you less trusting of people?
What do you really think of fans who queue damn long and damn early whenever there is a meet-the-fans session? I know you appreciate their support, but from another side (the non-artiste side), what's your opinion on them?
Are there really very 'fake' artistes who always seems nice on TV, but is the total opposite behind the scenes? (care to state a few??)
Do all artistes have 'bao mu' aka 'nanny' to look after them? Is it tough being one?
Does this industry always depend on looks to get it? Especially for the ladies?
so, what are the answers???
January 27, 2010 1:46 AMThe answers will be out soon! Promise!
January 27, 2010 12:06 PMThank you, that was extremely valuable and interesting...I will be back again to read more on this topic.

Hey, Andie, just wondering media corp would have further actions to open more video on xinmsn.com for those who are out of singapore? u know, limited approaching would be a big obstacle for ur TV industry. I love your drama but sadly for its limited resource.
