I guess you guys think it alright to dismiss all the hard work with non-constructive, personally insulting comments. That is exactly the attitude we need to improve our industry isn't it.
here's the link -
Just one question.
If we are that bad, why did you stay through the whole 1 and a half hours?
food for thought.
Ant.

January 5, 2010 2:52 PMGood point. I can't agree with you more on that.
don't worry andie, many people think it's great, so your hard work is really appreciated!
January 5, 2010 6:32 PMeh u dance super nice can! like your bro!
January 6, 2010 10:54 PM-ting.
dun be disheartened by such comments. these netizens just have nothing better to do but to diss people. u did well (and so did your other colleagues) n the rational audience will recognize your efforts. all the best in this new year!
January 7, 2010 12:36 AMHey, just found this blog and I want to say that it's glad to find you agreeing that people don't like local television.
January 9, 2010 9:47 PMHowever, you do not have to wait till the long run for the standards to be crippled because they already are. They suffer from poor storylines and bad scripts and the filming techniques can be improved.
That is why people turn to Japanese or Korean dramas and variety shows. The productions have a quality that is much much better than Singapore's. If you truely want people to enjoy local programmes once more, perhaps you could get the producers to watch more of the overseas productions, I think they'll seriously help.
Good Luck. Found your blog from EDMW btw.
Guess this comment won't appear.. cos i just dissed you off.. LOL
January 9, 2010 10:34 PMi did not even watch tt boring show. i just saw ur "performance" on youtube. pls dun dance suju's dance if u r not gd enough, it will onli make u a bunch of dancing chickens on tv and u r just disgracing urself by dancing like tt. wonder girls dance more suitable 4 u.
January 9, 2010 11:56 PMI WAS GOGGLING FOR WORST BLOGS EVER AND I FOUND YOU
January 10, 2010 12:02 AMLET'S GOGGLE MORE
do not talk machiam the standard of local tv will rise if you work hard, the audience appreciate your work or more 'actors' like youself join the industry...
January 10, 2010 12:39 AMyou are just a salaried employee like any other person in shenton way or loyang .. do not believe that you can contribute to the standard of local tv. it's at its bottom already ...
you better find a second job ...
viewers are entitled to their own opinions, as you are also entitled to yours.
January 10, 2010 12:50 AMdon't take it so hard.
the fact that you're in showbiz putting yourself up there for everyone to see means you've got to be ready to take all sorts of feedback.
Seriously do you actually take a look at other countries' channel, frankly speaking they are much better than our local channel, they totally beat us hands down. Its a fact. Get yourself a MioTV or SCV, its the best proof!
January 10, 2010 1:19 AMSorry, forced to watch your performance. Great thanks to the dominating mediacorp
January 10, 2010 1:20 AMeffort put in............but i dont really thing alot of people like it anyway
January 10, 2010 1:21 AManonymous: the mediocre quality in local productions is not due to the lack of talents, but simply due to the lack of budget.
January 10, 2010 1:26 AMDid anyone said the artistes didn't put in hard work? those netizens said your media company didn't put in hard work. you artistes are just the pawns of the company. nobody can be bothered with you guys.
January 10, 2010 1:35 AMpeople are bothered by the fact that your media company because of many reasons :
firstly having one unjustified source of income : TV licenses. why are people forced to accept TV channels that have crap tv shows and have to pay for them yearly irregardless of whether they watch the channels or not? will your media company dare to go on a subscription basis?
secondly why are your media company scriptwriters and producers so well paid but yet produce programs with either little quality or little creativity? its either crap shows...or shows where content mirror other foreign programs.
your media company probably also need to follow the NTUC guideline of cheaper better faster and the government recommendation of hiring more talented foreigners?
the netizens' comments come from their hearts. its what they truthfully feel. or you expect them to be fake and give u fake praise just to carry your balls and feed your ego?
their comments are like smoke. and smoke cannot exist without any fire. so rather that looking at the smoke, you should see where the fire is coming from.
The only good production that came out of mediacork in 2009 is Fighting Spiders. All others just sucks so bad i dont bother watching. Yes that includes years of crappy mediacork countdown.
January 10, 2010 1:46 AM( How the fuck did wood xuan became popular? She can't even act for crying out loud...disgusting)
This sorts of reflect the attitude of some locals toward the local production scene, an attitude that has been present for an extended period of time already. But things are deeper than it seem.
January 10, 2010 1:55 AMWaiting for the audience to change their attitudes is pure naivete as it disobeys the laws of cause-and-effect. After years and years of, frankly, bland shows, they might have grown bored/disheartened with the local scene.
But, to your merit, there's really nothing much one artiste can do.
Moreover, it is easier to diss critics off (as much as it is for critics to diss works off) and pluck flaws in their criticisms than to look back and see what has really gone wrong in the production. Who would find it easy criticise themselves? That's probably what the entertainment scene needs - for the producers to look back and see what needs to be improved, and not use the same scripts/programmes over and over again.
Yes, the local audience plays an integral part in bringing the local scene back up. But they cannot be the ones making the first move; they can only cooperate, not initiate.
I support your fight, and this (post) is probably only a small mistake in the battle.
Hello,
January 10, 2010 2:14 AMIf you are unable to take negative comments, then am pretty sure it say a lot about the attitude.
Secondly, if you think that viewers are there watching the show 100% of the time, it just prove that your not thinking when your posting this.
Lastly, am sure you don't belong to INTJ or ENTJ.
Regards,
sorry, i did not waste 1 1/2 of my life watching the whole show... just saw a vid of abit of the show. enough of tv torture for the whole year...
January 10, 2010 2:22 PMIt's also easier to drown yourself in a state of denial and tell yourself you have worked hard and everyone should just carry balls and tell you well done or something.
January 10, 2010 6:17 PMPlease... for goodness sake
In japan, kids aged below 10 in the showbiz works harder than you people.
I did not watch the countdown by the way, the clips bashing the performances after the event prove i made a wise choice
u piece of trash , stfu lah
January 10, 2010 8:06 PMHi there,
January 10, 2010 10:02 PMI know that you may not approve this but just for you to take note.
If you are unable to handle harsh feedback, you don't have what it takes to survive in this industry. This is already proven fact for which you post in this blog to comment on the people commenting on the performance. You also didn't thought of the consequences of posting it.
People who are able to handle harsh feedback and react properly to them are the one who will succeed. You still have a long way to go, young man.
Regards,
"Fighting Spiders" wasn't even a Mediacorp production in the true sense of the word. They had nothing much to do with it besides commissioning and paying for it, giving comments sometimes and supplying some of the actors (who by the way are great ppl to work with!).
January 11, 2010 2:48 AMThe next time you watch something you feel is actually quite decent or good, look out at the very end of the credits.
If the programme is actually produced by an independent production house for Mediacorp, the end credit logo of the production house (who is commissioned to shoot the show) will appear just before the Mediacorp end logo.
If the it's entirely produced by Mediacorp, just the "Mediacorp STUDIOS" logo will appear.
Most likely the former if you've just watched something good... ;-)
We are trying (a lot of us, like you, can't stand the quality of the things we put out sometimes), but like an earlier poster said, most of the time the limited budget given to us simply doesn't allow us the ideal manpower, time, logistics, locations, technology to execute what we have on paper to the small screen.
You want to blame the actors and the rest of the production team for sucky shows?
Here's a hint: we are not the ones who decides the budget.
you're a celebrity but you took the words of the audiences too seriously aren't ya? i tot people like your kind would take criticism as a place for improvement.. i guess i was wrong.. and its funny too see you complaining in your entry.. hahaha
January 11, 2010 9:50 AMU DANCE LIKE A CHICKEN!! ZOMG!
January 11, 2010 1:07 PMfrankly speaking i think it's right for the netizen to complain about the standard of the shows that mediacorp are putting up ... even you yourself agree that your industry is crippled ... you putting in effort to dance and having the talent to dance is altogether a different story ... i think all who have eyes to see can see that the dancing is mess up with no coordination hence people will criticize about the performance. While you rebuke on why people have to endure that 1 1/2 hrs if the show is so bad ... frankly speaking both side of the channel is boring just that there's nothing else showing we just simply watch it ... so don't flatter yourself too much
January 11, 2010 1:18 PMYou have to admit the dance was pretty fail. If you don't you are either in a state of self-delusion or you're retarded.
January 11, 2010 6:59 PMi feel its the production houses outside mediacorp who actually produce shows with more reverence for the craft and more attempt at improving production values. Those that are produced inside mediacorp leaves much to be desired. CAse in point, a show called SERVE YOU RIGHT. which effectively ended fiona xie credibility as a comic actress on ch5
